Wonki Ware is a range of exclusive dinnerware and tableware that is hand crafted in South Africa through a truly artisanal process that is becoming increasingly rare in an age of automated production.

Every single item is made by hand, from a small salt dish to a generous trough platter. No matter how small or big, they each go through the same creative process, which sees the clay moulded, shaped, smoothed and painted during 15 different stages on the journey from clay to table. Each piece is a work of art in itself, yet it’s meant to be used and enjoyed, loved and shared, every single day… 

Dishwasher and Cleaning Care

Stacking: Load plates and bowls with space between them so they do not bump or bear the weight of heavy pots and pans.

Temperature: Let the ceramic cool down and dry completely inside the dishwasher before you touch or unload it, as rapid temperature changes can cause cracking.

Hand Washing: Hand washing is often recommended by makers to maximize the lifespan of delicate handmade glazes.

Safety: The clay used is 100% non-toxic, lead-free, and cadmium-free, making it completely food safe
